Practice Areas
Rupert is an established junior with substantial experience in public, commercial, employment, procurement, and data privacy litigation. His current and recent non-confidential cases include acting:
• For the Iranian commercial bank Bank Mellat in long-running sanctions litigation in the Commercial and Administrative Courts;
• For City finance and insurance houses in arbitrations and High Court team move and confidentiality litigation;
• For tech companies in data and related litigation;
• For the ICO, BA, and other household names in data privacy actions,
• For both substantial private tenderers and public authorities in procurement claims; and
• For central Government, Public Law Project, Good Law Project and commercial bodies in public law litigation, including litigation arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He is also frequently involved in appellate litigation, appearing in the Supreme Court/Privy Council on seven occasions since 2015.
Career
Called to the Bar 2012. Supreme Court Judicial Assistant 2013-2014. Member of the Attorney General’s B Panel of Counsel and the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s Panel of Counsel.
