Stan, a member of Reed Smith’s Insurance Recovery Group with over 40 years of experience, focuses his practice on insurance coverage and commercial litigation. He concentrates on disputes involving insurance coverage for environmental, antitrust, intellectual property, director and officer, product recall, and professional and employment liability claims. His experience includes involvement in cases at all levels of the state and federal courts, including bench and jury trials.

Stan has represented policyholders in groundbreaking cases. He served as senior counsel in the first-known Illinois decision upholding a duty to defend a trademark infringement action. He also served as co-counsel in the nation's first state appellate court decision recognizing umbrella liability coverage for a Robinson-Patman Act price discrimination claim.

Stan has published widely in leading law reviews, journals, and professional periodicals and his articles have been quoted or cited with approval by numerous courts.
