Career
Ken Levine is the Chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Insurance Corporate and Regulatory Practice Group. Ken has over three decades of experience representing the interests of insurers and reinsurers, and insurance-related entities such as service contract providers, brokers, managing general agents, and third-party administrators. He is also retained by private funds and other investors on insurance regulatory, licensing and corporate matters.
Ken’s practice covers the organizational and transactional life cycle of the business of insurance, from formation and product development; to market introduction, growth, and eventual critical mass; and the prosecution and defense of insurance receiverships. He complements traditional insurer functions by counsel with respect to Insurance Holding Company System Act filings, financial reporting, regulatory compliance and strategic opportunities.
Other firms, as well as governmental authorities, have retained Ken over the years for technical analysis, due diligence, and transactional wording. Ken is known for reconciling complex and competing insurance regulatory and contract provisions and translating findings into concise and responsive legal opinions. His practice covers virtually every kind and type of insurance and warranty product.
Professional Memberships
Ken serves as a Director on the Board of the Federation of Regulatory Counsel (FORC), representing the Southeast Region of the United States. He currently serves as the Chair of the FORC Admissions Committee, after having served as the Editor of the FORC Journal of Insurance Law and Regulation. Ken has chaired various advisory councils and associations over the years.
